During the Sydney Floods of August, 1986, Allison co-ordinated and supervised the team of Personal Services Workers, who were to offer support, advice and information to the Flood Relief Assessment Officers and to the disasteraffected community. She has had direct experience as a Personal Services Worker in the Blue Mountains bushfires (1977) and the Widsor Floods (1978), and was Chairperson of the Personal Services Sub-Committee, Sydney Inner Division Disaster Welfare Co-ordinating Committee.
