'Tug of War'

This painting demonstrates the ripping feeling of being pulled apart by my parents in an attempt to consolidate custody. I always stretch and bend to comply with the demands of my parents, which often contradict, leaving me upsetting one or both. The bruises on the feminine hand represent the abuse my father inflicted onto my mum and the rift it caused in our family.
